The new Homestar Runner Halloween cartoon for your enjoyment -- E and I watched it last night and it's brilliant as usual. Coach Z's "Thorg Life" may be my favorite, but I think I may just give up trying to have a favorite. Who can do it? Too much Halloween-y brilliance all in one place... keep yer eyes peeled for the Great Pumpkins, kids, I have a feeling this year's the year!

On a mean(ish) note, there's something, um, irritating about Cardinals fans that's almost as irritating as Nebraska fans. Maybe it's their reputation of being so bloody "knowledgeable" and "loyal". For god's sake, they're baseball fans not St. Bernards -- let's hold off on the cannonization proceedings and give the rest of baseball's fandom a litlle credit, OK? It's like every other team's fans are all sub-literate weasels who'd just as soon stab their team's star player right in the back as look at them... Stick a bunch of corn-fed midwest goobers (p.s., how come you only see white Cardinal fans?) in some red T-shirts and next thing you know you've got an army of sabermetricians all armed with Bill James' last four books. Trust me, they're yahoos and dummys just like baseball fans anywhere else.

Living With Gay Porn Sex Links

I guess I'm slightly flattered... in the aftermath of the Red Sox fucking magnificent clinching World Series victory last night, someone decided to post some "gay sex/gay porn" links to a quasi-lame old baseball post from early July wherein I was grousing about a hitherto sort-of underperforming BoSox team. Somebody made me a part of the celebration, and my blog was a wall pissed on by some drunken townie digi-yob living out the vindication of his father and his father's father! Huzzah! I mean, I was asleep when most of this went on (I konked after Foulke sealed the deal), so I'm just happy to have been a part of things.

Being a cas Sox fan (of course loving the Giants first and foremost), I am really pleased today. So the gay sex links stay up for 24 hours, a tribute to... well, to how great our love of sport truly can be. Great and funny and stupid. Gay porn sex great.

What Makes A Man Touch His Computer Screen?

Really... what the hell? Why are you touching your computer screen? Getting your greasy finger juice all over the place, making things not neat -- irritating, man, irritating. It just sort of seems pre-technological to me, having to touch yer computer screen, like maybe you don't get what exactly understand what's going on in the magic shiny light box and you're excited to touch cold fire or something.

What Makes A Man Think About Starting Fires?

Why worry about compiling definitive top ten punk rock record list? I guess... I guess I'm getting old. Thinking about my legacy. Thinking about my beloved readers, the dozens and dozens of you out there who desperately need to know what records I deem the punk rock tops.

Looking at life in the big picture leads to big picture questions... I mean, I'm thirty now and I just bought my first Wire record.

Irony-Free

Is The Radio dead? Maybe for now... I miss just having one blog. I think I was going insane with my idea to split things up into separate universes -- the fact is, I'm burned out on the 150 Words Or Less experiment for the time being and just want to write other things. Maybe I'll change my mind soon, maybe not. We'll see.

Anyway, I'm working on compiling an irony-free list of the ten best punk rock records of all time -- excluding 7"s I guess. I don't really know why I'm doing this. I guess I was thinking about it in traffic on the way to work this morning and why the hell not.

Sure-fire inclusions:

RAMONES -- Ramones
THE CLASH -- London Calling
MINUTEMEN -- Double Nickles On The Dime
OPERATION IVY -- Energy

That leaves six slots. Hmmm. So many great songs, so few great records, you know? What would be the one great Descendents record? Arguably there isn't one. OK, in reality there isn't one. Great songs, no great record. Lemme think about this.
