An iTunes "game" and also a meme -- read it, do it, post your responses, then do your shuffle thing again and post it wherever you post this sort of thing. I'm sure I don't want to know.

1. Open up the music player on your computer.
2. Set it to play your entire music collection.
3. Hit the shuffle command.
4. Tell us the title of the next ten songs that show up (with their musicians), no matter how embarrassing. That's right, no skipping that Carpenters tune that will totally destroy your hip credibility. It's time for total musical honesty. Write it up in your blog or journal and link back to at least a couple of the other sites where you saw this.
5. If you get the same artist twice, you may skip the second (or third, or etc.) occurrences. You don't have to, but since randomness could mean you end up with a list of ten song with five artists, you can if you'd like.

Sorry if this is a little rude, but you know what I don't care about?  What bloggers** think about Hurricane Katrina/it's aftermath/FEMA... any of it.  It's a tragedy.  FEMA's lame.  We get it.  People shouldn't bore other people by letting them know how much they care about things.  You're supposed to fucking care.  You're just doing your job.  Have a nice, warm cup of shut the hell up, and please do it quietly.  Donate something or help out and don't tell anybody about it.  As if anyone in the fucking universe doesn't know what's happened (sort of), what's happening (more or less), or what organizations are helping out.

I could say something crummy like "the above-linked effort(s) might be a better way to spend resources than trying to track down Alex Chilton", but I won't. Maybe I just did. Just maybe. But whatever, the truth hurts.

The Humility of Pain

Once again, these days I find myself really unable to get into writing/whatever-it-is-I-do for Secret Comics.  Other things are going pretty well, so it's not that... it's just... something.  Maybe I will give myself a few weeks to see how I feel about things.  Say... Wednesday, September 21.  I have had some ideas for fiction lately, semi-similar to some of the old "150 Words Or Less" posts, but I have no idea if that's the direction I would want to take this particular enterprise.  No matter what happens, I willl keep "secretcomics.com" and end up doing something with that -- assuming that something is not associated with what you are now reading.  Or something.  You know what I mean.

P.S.  I did no proof-reading for this entry except as I was writing.  OK, that's a lie.
